Off-Center Argyle

New Years Eve I cast on for Teva Durham's Off Center Argyle from Wrap Style. I've been wanting to make this for quite some time, and have had the yarn for a couple of months. I needed something easy to take in the car while we ran errands, and used this as an excuse to cast on. I am using Elann Peruvian Highland Wool in Starlight Blue, Dusty Teal, Eggplant, and Violet Heather, and Elann Peruvian Pure Alpaca in Walnut. What you see first, along with a skein of each of the yarn colors, is the swatch of the Highland Wool and Pure Alpaca, swatched together to see how the different yarns did side by side (just fine, got same gauge on both). My intent was to cast on for the back and do the ribbing while we were out.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to put it down, and by mid-afternoon yesterday, I had made it several inches up the back. I say unfortunately, because this is to be my easy, take along knitting, so I can get more accomplished on the fair isle at home. Maybe I'll just knock this one out quick, and find something a little less interesting for my take-along project?

Wow, that is cute. I probably wouldn't be able to put it down either! Can't wait to see how it turns out. That Fair Isle is adorable too!
